Self Empowerment

SisterHood of Central Michigan was founded to provide assistance for single mothers who are living at, or below, the poverty level in Mid Michigan.

Case Managers from local hospitals, Case Managers in the school setting, local social workers, as well as local health care professionals make referrals submitted to sisterhood@activist.com

SisterHood of Central Michigan has partnered with local trade schools, colleges, and universities, to provide scholarships to single mothers who are interested and dedicated to their goal of advancing themselves professionally

To ease their way, SisterHood of Central Michigan will provide a 1:1 career counselor, case worker, and therapist.  In addition, every enrollee will receive a Nurturing Parenting Program curriculum, taught by a certified coach.

The goal is that while the mother obtains her education, child care costs, living expenses, transportation costs, hygiene and grocery expenses will be covered by SisterHood so long as the applicant is meeting all predetermined program milestones.
