Applicant Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
Must be self-motivated to succeed.
Must have a career goal in mind: trade school, associate/bachelor’s degree
A single mother living at or below the poverty level without any social resources or support team.
Females between the ages of 17-30 (although exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis)
Must be willing to live in the chosen safe housing and must be willing to comply with milestone meetings, mandatory counseling, and parenting sessions
Only the mother and her dependents may live in the housing unit
The mother must attend all trade classes and college classes as specified. She will not be required to work during school, we expect a total dedication to her goal.
Exclusion Criteria
Absolutely no alcohol abuse
Absolutely no drug abuse
Absolutely no undocumented dependent to stay the night in a housing unit
Absolutely no domestic violence: only maternal-child unit allowed in the home
Absolutely no physical discipline to dependents (we are using positive/negative reinforcement and compassionate parenting techniques. Spanking or physical abuse will not be tolerated between maternal and child unit)
Single mothers with other social support available (stable family, safe housing) may be considered but will not be given priority
